> SEO is the base layer of search visibility: technical health, keyword to page mapping, content that answers commercial questions, and authority built through genuine links.

## Still the base layer, whatever the acronym

Answer engines and assistants have changed where results appear. They have not changed what gets retrieved. A site that is slow, thin, badly structured or unlinked will not be found by a crawler, quoted by a model, or ranked by Google. Everything else we sell sits on top of this.

Our SEO programme is deliberately unexciting: fix what is broken, publish content that answers a real commercial question better than the page currently ranking, and earn authority slowly. There is no lever that skips those steps.

## What we will tell you honestly

Some keywords are not worth pursuing. If the first page is entirely national marketplaces and comparison sites, your budget goes further on local terms, answer slots and paid placement. Part of the audit is telling you where not to spend, which is usually the most valuable page in it.

## What the work involves

Four workstreams, running in parallel once the audit is done.

### Technical health

Crawl and index coverage, site speed and Core Web Vitals, mobile rendering, internal linking, canonical and redirect hygiene, and structured data. We fix the issues that actually affect retrieval and ignore the ones that only make an audit tool score look better.

### Keyword and intent mapping

Every target term mapped to one page with a clear job. Two pages chasing the same term compete with each other, which is one of the most common causes of a site that ranks on page two for everything and page one for nothing.

### Content that deserves the position

Written by people who research your sector, structured for extraction, and aimed at commercial questions rather than traffic for its own sake. We would rather publish six pages that convert than thirty that fill a calendar.

### Authority building

Digital PR, supplier and trade body links, sector directories and genuine partnerships. No link networks and no paid link schemes, because the cleanup costs more than the gain.

### Conversion, not just traffic

Rankings that produce no enquiries are a hobby. We look at what the ranking page actually asks the visitor to do, and fix the gap between arriving and getting in touch.

## What the first month looks like

### Week one

Full technical crawl, analytics and search console review, competitor analysis, and a keyword to page map. You receive the audit as a written document with a prioritised list, not a tool export.

### Weeks two and three

Critical technical fixes shipped, indexing problems resolved, and the highest value existing pages restructured. This is usually where the first measurable movement comes from.

### Week four onwards

Content production begins against the map, authority work starts, and monthly reporting is established against agreed targets.

## Questions

How long until I rank? For low competition and local terms, often six to twelve weeks. For competitive commercial terms, three to six months to move and longer to hold. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either targeting terms nobody searches or is about to do something you will pay for later.

Do I need SEO and Local SEO?If you serve customers from a premises or an area, Local SEO usually comes first because it produces enquiries faster. Broader SEO matters once you are competing beyond your immediate area or selling online.

Will AI make SEO obsolete? It is changing where the answer appears, not whether sources are retrieved and ranked. The work of being technically sound, genuinely useful and well corroborated is the same work. That is why our AI services build on this one rather than replacing it.

Can I keep my current developer?Yes, and most clients do. We can hand your team a specified list of changes, or implement them ourselves if you prefer. Either works.
