> Local SEO gets a business into the Google map pack, the three results shown above organic listings. The strongest signals are review volume, consistency, recency and spread across platforms.

## Three results get almost all of the demand

For a local search the map pack sits above the organic results and shows three businesses. Being fourth is, commercially, close to being invisible. Local SEO is the work of getting into those three and staying there.

The ranking logic is well understood: relevance to the query, distance from the searcher, and prominence. You cannot move your premises, so the work concentrates on the other two. Prominence, in practice, is mostly reviews.

## Why this is our strongest service

GoReview started as a review collection platform. We have collected over 60,000 reviews for more than 2,500 businesses, and clients typically see reviews increase around fourfold. Because review volume, recency and spread are the dominant prominence signals, that platform is a direct local ranking asset rather than a separate product we happen to also sell.

## What the work involves

Profile first, because it is the fastest lever, then the supporting structure.

### Google Business Profile, properly

Correct primary and secondary categories, which alone can decide whether you appear for a query. Full service and product lists, service areas, attributes, opening hours including holidays, and a posting cadence. Most profiles we audit have the wrong primary category and half the fields empty.

### Review engine running continuously

Automated review requests by email, SMS, WhatsApp and QR at the right point in your process, with unhappy feedback routed privately first so problems reach you rather than the public listing. Consistent weekly arrival matters more than a one off push.

### Location and service pages

Genuine pages for each area and service you serve, with content specific to that place rather than the same paragraph with the town name swapped. Thin duplicated location pages are actively harmful and we will tell you if you have them.

### Citations and consistency

Your details corrected across the directories that matter for your trade, with duplicates claimed or removed. Inconsistent details are a common and completely avoidable drag on prominence.

### Local link and mention building

Suppliers, trade bodies, sponsorships, local press and community organisations. Unglamorous, slow, and still one of the clearest separators between the top three and everyone below.

### Grid based rank tracking

We track your position across a grid of points around your premises, not from a single location, because local rankings vary street by street. It shows exactly how far your visibility reaches and where it drops off.

## The four review factors that move rankings

These are the levers our platform was built to pull, and they are the ones we report on monthly.

### Volume

Dozens or hundreds of high scoring reviews, not a handful.

### Consistency

Arriving every week, ideally every day.

### Recency

Recent reviews outweigh old ones heavily.

### Variety

Spread across the platforms that count in your sector.

## Questions

I have no shopfront. Does this still apply?Yes. Service area businesses can rank in the map pack without displaying an address. The setup differs and gets more weight from reviews and service area configuration, which we handle.

Can you get rid of a bad review?Only if it breaches platform policy, and we will challenge those. The reliable approach is to outweigh it. A single one star review among forty recent five star reviews barely registers. Among six reviews it defines you.

How many locations can you handle? From one to several hundred. Multi location work is priced per site with shared strategy, and we manage profiles in bulk rather than one at a time.

Do you need access to my Google account? We ask to be added as a manager on the Business Profile, which you can revoke at any time. We never need your personal Google password.
